Having sex without a condom or if the condom splits or comes off during sex, increases the chances of getting a sexually transmitted infection (STI). It is a good idea to get a STI test. You can get an STI for free at a local Sexual Health Clinic or you might be able to get a free home testing kit (delivered to you in a discreet box) from Sexual Health London. For more information on STI’s please see What are sexually transmitted infections (STIs)?
It can also increase the chances of pregnancy for people who can get pregnant. You can access emergency contraception from a sexual health clinic, pharmacies, and via your GP. For more information on emergency contraception please see the NHS website.
