What happens after I have reported misconduct under the Student Disciplinary Procedure?
The local manager will decide whether the misconduct, if proven, could be considered a disciplinary offence. If so, the local manager will conduct an investigation. If not, the matter may be referred back to the Disciplinary Officer for the matter to be dealt with informally, or may decide to take no further action.

If a Stage 1 investigation is started the reported, a student will be invited to attend a Stage 1 meeting, witnesses are spoken to and evidence where appropriate is gathered. Once all available evidence is gathered, this will bring the Stage 1 investigation to a close.

The local manager will make a decision on the next steps, which could be:
  • refer the matter back to the Disciplinary Officer for the matter to be dealt with informally, or
  • decide that no further action should be taken, or
  • decide that there is a case to answer and the matter should be referred to stage 2 of the procedure.

Once the process under the procedure is complete and it is considered reasonable and appropriate to do so, you will be informed of the outcome of the disciplinary process. Please see the Student Disciplinary Procedure for more details.
