If you find yourself feeling that you may need a break from your studies, there is support to help you.
If you are considering interrupting, or if you would like to start the process, please choose the ‘Request to interrupt / withdraw’ button on MyAccount.
Once you have competed the form, your request will be reviewed by the right member of LSBU staff:
- Course Leader, for Health-related courses
- Supervisor, for postgraduate research students
- Apprenticeship Relationship Manager, for apprentices
- International Student Advisor, for students studying on sponsored study visa
- Student Advisor, for all other students.
There will be an opportunity to discuss the implications of your decision. Raising a request is the first step in the interruption process – and you can change your mind, if you wish to. Your interruption is not finalised until you have written confirmation.
You can review our Withdrawal and Interruption Procedure and the Tuition Fee Regulations on the Policies and Procedures page of the University website.
If you cannot make an enquiry via MyAccount, please contact studentlife@lsbu.ac.uk.
Finance
If you are an interrupting or withdrawing from LSBU and have received a recent maintenance loan payment, student finance will calculate how many weeks of a 12- week term you have attended to determine whether you are liable for an overpayment.
If you are intending on returning to the course, please inform student finance. Otherwise, student finance will require this payment straight away. You can call them to ask about a payment plan or ask for a financial hardship form to ask for the overpayment to be added onto your total loan repayment.
